​Daniel Sop is a Senior Research Scientist at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he integrates biomedical engineering with clinical research to advance the understanding of sickle cell disease. Currently, his research focuses on developing objective pain measurement methodologies and exploring the impact of SCD on brain hemodynamics, pain perception, and cognitive function. Daniel has contributed to numerous government and privately funded grants and has co-authored over 40 publications in the field. His interdisciplinary approach bridges engineering and medicine, aiming to improve patient care and outcomes in SCD.
