Brenda Green is the Founder and CEO of The B Strong Group, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and community-based organization dedicated to raising awareness about sickle cell disease (SCD). Inspired by their son, Braden, who lives with SCD, Brenda and her husband, Patrick, established the organization in 2017. Their mission is to educate, advocate, and engage the community while emphasizing two core initiatives: increasing blood donation and empowering caregivers and those affected by SCD through education.
Under Brenda’s leadership, The B Strong Group serves as a Community-Based Organization (CBO) Partner of the Sickle Cell Community Consortium. Brenda also plays an active role in various organizations, including serving as a Partner Representative with the American Red Cross, a Member of Prisma Health Hospital Midlands’ Patient and Family Advisory Council, a Sickle Cell Disease Healthcare Navigator with Sickle Cell Medical Advocacy, and a Member of the South Carolina Sickle Cell Advocacy Task Force. She also contributes her expertise on several steering committees and community boards.
Brenda is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.
