Graduated in Nursing from the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana (1990) Master in Nursing (2005) and completed PhD in Nursing (2010) from the Universidade Federal da Bahia with Doctorate Sanduich in the Department of Sociology IV of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2009-2010). Colaboreted as a Visitor professor on School of Nursing of University of South Carolina, Columbia United States, like a Scholarship holder CNPq (2018-2019). Currently, she is full professor in Nursing undergraduate courses, and master's and doctoral program degree in Collective Health and in Nursing from the Universidade Estadual de Feira de Santana and Universidade Federal da Bahia; She works in the areas of Nursing in Adult and Elderly Health and, Collective Health Nursing. She develop research and advocates for health care rights for people with sickle cell disease and their families. Her studies focus on Experience of Chronic Illness, and Stigma and Health and their consequences to care and coping strategies from groups under vulnerability.
