Lori E. Crosby, PsyD, is a Tenured Professor in the Division of Behavioral Medicine and Clinical Psychology at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) and Department of Pediatrics at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine. Dr. Crosby is also Director of the Cincinnati Center for Clinical and Translational Science (CTSA), Community Engagement Core, Co-Director of INNOVATIONS in Community Research and Program Evaluation, and directs a research program in pediatric sickle cell disease. Dr. Crosby is elected Fellow of the American Psychological Association (APA) and has expertise in self-management, treatment adherence, healthcare transition, recruitment and retention, implementation science, and integrating design thinking into research. She has been a Principal/Co-Investigator or Consultant on more than 20 federally-funded grants, including NIH grants to develop patient-provider tools to enhance the transition to adult care for young adults with SCD, evaluate a self-management intervention for adolescents with sickle cell disease, and a CBT/neuromuscular intervention for adolescents with SCD and chronic pain, and PCORI awards to compare interventions to improve transition in SCD and dissemination methods for a hydroxyurea shared decision-making intervention. Dr. Crosby also chaired a workgroup to identify SCD psychosocial and social determinant protocols/measures for PhenX and was a member of the NASEM Committee that produced the Addressing Sickle Cell Disease: A Strategic Plan and Blueprint for Action. She is also a member of the ASH RC Scientific Research Committee and President-Elect of Division 54 of the American Psychological Association.
